Lakatriona Brunson (born May 15, 1977) is an American actress and athlete best known for her character Bernice on the truTV reality television series, South Beach Tow.
Brunson is also the first female American football coach in Florida, managing the Miami Jackson High School football team.
She gained popularity for her role as Bernice, a Miami tow-truck operator on the docudrama series South Beach Tow. South Beach Tow is a show based on the day to day operations of Tremont Towing. Bernice has many recurring character traits, such as desposing of unruly members of the public, her trademark shades and referring to herself in the third-person. Tremont Towing is an actual towing company used by the city of Miami Beach for towing illegally parked cars, however the show featured reenactments and the entire cast were fictionalized employees. When not working on the show, she worked as a Physical Education teacher.
She attended Miami Northwestern Senior High School in the 1990s, where she excelled in track and field. She also played basketball, and went on to play at Tennessee State University.
